This month, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) celebrated its 25th anniversary. The anniversary gala, held at the Wóycicki campus, brought together representatives from the world of science, culture and politics. Among them were many distinguished alumni and friends of the university, including Prof. dr hab. Gertruda Uścińska, Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School in Warsaw.
UKSW – University standing for values
During the ceremony, Rev. Prof. Ryszard Czekalski, Rector of UKSW, stressed that the silver jubilee is a moment when past, present and future come together. “A quarter of a century is a time in which we have realized many dreams, inspired thousands of young people and strengthened the values that have guided Polish society for centuries,” said the Rector, thanking all who have contributed to the development of the university.
Development and challenges
Over the course of 25 years, UKSW has undergone a dynamic transformation – from a small university with four departments to an institution with three campuses, 12 faculties and nearly 100 fields of study. “We have educated thousands of young people who work for the good of the Homeland and the Church. These are 25 years of challenges and successes that are a source of our common pride,” said Rev. Prof. Czekalski.
The Rector stressed that the university draws inspiration from the teaching of its patron, Blessed Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, combining tradition with a modern approach to science and education.
