Baltic Sea as key to security and economic development of Poland and the European Union

Representatives of the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School took part in a conference “The Baltic Sea as a key to security and economic development of Poland and the European Union”.

Taking into account the key role of the Baltic Sea in the realization of Poland’s and EU strategic interests, the organizers held a debate, with participation of experts in the fields of military security, energy and maritime economy.

The Baltic Sea is of great economic importance to Poland and the European Union countries. In recent years there has been a significant development of the maritime economy; the number of transshipments in Polish ports is increasing, and the revitalization of the Polish shipbuilding industry is also progressing.

The conference featured two panels: “The European economy: the Polish merchant fleet under the national flag” and  ”The Baltic Sea and the energy and military security of Poland and the European Union.”
