Jan Czarnocki, an expert in new technology law, data protection and AI regulation, counsel at HeyGen, will be a speaker at the AI&EDU SGMK science congress. He will participate in the panel discussion “Cyber Security, AI, Legislation and Living Law”.

The AI&EDU SGMK science congress will be held on June 13-14 in Warsaw. Just like the Futurist of the Year SGMK, the largest futurological science congress of 2024, it will become an interdisciplinary space for the exchange of knowledge and experience of Polish and foreign experts and researchers. Jan Czarnocki is a PhD student and Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow at the KU Leuven Centre for IT & IP Law . He was an associate researcher at Stanford Law School, Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg and Jagiellonian University. He has also gained experience as an advisor to technology start-ups, as well as a trainee in the External Policies Directorate of the European People’s Party Group in the European Parliament.  

He researches privacy and data protection issues, focusing on the protection of biometric and health data, in the context of the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence algorithms. He holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Warsaw and a LL.M. in comparative law from China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing.
