13 experiments have been planned for the Polish IGNIS space mission. Some of the samples – due to mass and size limitations – will reach the International Space Station (ISS) before the crew. The first samples are scheduled to go into orbit as early as April 21.
Thirteen scientific experiments will be conducted during the mission, including:
- the operation of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) units in low-gravity conditions,
- assessing the possibility of communication without the use of muscles,
- studying the effects of prolonged stays in space on human mental health,
- monitoring noise levels on the ISS,
- the use of microalgae in future space missions and space medicine.
IGNIS (Latin for “fire”) is the official name of the Polish technology and science mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The goal of the mission is to test cutting-edge space technologies and stimulate innovation, increasing the potential of the Polish space industry.
The Polish technological and scientific mission to the International Space Station (ISS), with the participation of Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, is planned for in late May/early June.
