“Income diversification in old age” – a lecture by Prof. Uścińska at the international scientific conference ”A World Tailored for Seniors. Life of Seniors in the Light of Empirical Research 2024” at UKSW

On November 13, 2024, the rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School in Warsaw, Prof. Gertruda Uścińska, took part in the International Scientific Conference A World Tailored for Seniors. Life of Seniors in the Light of Empirical Research 2024”. The conference was organized by the Center for Research on Old Age and Aging of Society at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University and brought together prominent experts from Poland and abroad to jointly analyze and discuss the most significant challenges facing seniors and the aging society.

“Income diversification in old age” – lecture by the Rector of the SGMK
During the conference, Prof. Gertruda Uścińska gave the opening lecture entitled “Income Diversification in Old Age”, the topic of which is crucial in the context of challenges and ensuring financial stability of the elderly. She presented the issues and discussed strategic matters, noting the need to implement modern systemic solutions that respond to changing demographic and social needs. She stressed that appropriate measures in this area can significantly improve the quality of life of seniors.

Among the topics discussed at the conference were also the material situation of seniors, their professional activity and mental and physical health, which play a key role in the context of the quality of life of the elderly. Discussions were interdisciplinary; the solutions presented combined knowledge from various fields of science and social practice. 

The conference “A World Tailored for Seniors” provided an important platform for exchanging knowledge, experiences and initiating new scientific projects that can bring real benefits to the senior community both in Poland and abroad.
