NASA Space Apps Challenge Hackathon in Stalowa Wola

On the first weekend of October, the NASA Space Apps Challenge hackathon will be held in Stalowa Wola. More than 500 participants will take part in the event, competing for prizes worth PLN 100,000.

The organizers of the hacathon are the Podkarpackie Innovation Center (PCI), the Stalowa Wola local government and the Regional Chamber of Commerce. Partners of the event include the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, the Polish Space Agency and the European Space Foundation.

Registration of the participants is underway and will continue until the day the hackathon begins. Participants can count on attractive prizes, as well as guidance of space industry experts.

NASA Space Apps Challenge is a global hackathon held in different locations around the world. In Poland, it will be held simultaneously in Stalowa Wola and in Szczecin. During the two-day event, participants will solve real-world problems relating to Earth and Space, using data from NASA and other space agencies. In all, they will work on 21 challenges related to, among others, agriculture.

Last year’s event attracted around 300 participants and more than 350 people have already signed up for this year’s event. The city is providing participants with transportation, food and lodging.
