On Data Analytics and Cybersecurity

On the weekend of November 18-19, 2023, we had once again the pleasure of meeting with a group of experts during thematic classes. This time, students had an opportunity to expand their knowledge of the following topics: 

  • “Forecasting and data analysis” – expert: Dr. Jacek Kotłowski 
  • “Introduction to cybersecurity and cybersecurity regulations in banking” and ‘Introduction to the practice of increasing cyber-security in corporate and personal environments’ -expert: Przemysław Hoppe 
  • “Contemporary challenges in banking” – expert: Dr. Ireneusz Dąbrowski 

Expert Profiles 

Jacek Kotłowski, PhD – deputy director of the Department of Economic Analysis and Research at the National Bank of Poland. In 2005, he obtained his PhD at the Warsaw School of Economics. Since 2018, he has been working as a professor at the Institute of Econometrics of the Warsaw School of Economics. In 1997-1998, he was a DAAD scholar at Humboldt University in Berlin. 

Przemysław Hoppe – has more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry in ITIL/CMMI-based corporate environments. His topic of interest is cybersecurity and systems administration. He works as a security manager for contractors in the financial, oil and gas industries. He has completed numerous technical training courses in security (both technical and management) and systems administration. 

Ireneusz Dąbrowski, PhD – Economist and lawyer, Ph.D. in economic sciences, professor at the Warsaw School of Economics, specialist in systems stability, general equilibrium and evolutionary economics. Deputy Governor of Opole in 2005-2006, Deputy Minister of the Treasury in 2006-2007.
