On November 9, 2023, the official opening of the 2023/2024 academic year at the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School (SGMK) was held in the building of the former State Agricultural Bank at 50/54 Nowogrodzka Street in Warsaw.

The ceremony began with the joint singing of the Polish Anthem, followed by the welcoming of all Guests – representatives of state and regional/ local government authorities; representatives of the Copernicus Academy and SGMK faculty, as well as PhD and MBA students.

The next part of the event was the reading of commemorative letters, including from Mr. Adam Struzik – Marshal of the Masovian Voivodeship.

Speeches were another highlight of the program. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Piotr Turek – Rector of SGMK. The other distinguished speakers were:
Dr. Barbara Fedyszak-Radziejowska – Advisor to the President of the Republic of Poland,
Dr. Przemysław Czarnek – Minister of Education and Science,
Her Excellency Ambassador Sharon S.N. Wu, Taipei Representative Office in Poland.

The most anticipated part of the inauguration was the student matriculation ceremony, performed by the SGMK Rector Piotr Turek.

The ceremony was closed with a speech by a representative of doctoral students.

Concluding the event, the choir performed Gaudeamus Igitur.
