Registration is now open for the SPACESHIELD Hack hackathon, which will take place on May 24-25 in Stalowa Wola, Subcarpathia. The event will focus on issues related to the future of space and defense technologies. Participants can register via www.spaceshield.pl website. 

The goal of the event is not only to develop creative technological solutions, but also to build bridges between the public, private and academic sectors in areas that are key to the modern economy and security. The hackathon will be centered around three challenges: space, defense and dual use, which combines both. There will also be an open category.

The tasks for participants in the May hackathon were prepared by specialists and experts during the Anti-Hackathon, the event preceding the Spaceshield Hack hackathon, which took place in Stalowa Wola on March 10. 

The event is aimed at technology enthusiasts, industry experts and students fascinated by space, defense and cyber security. The prize pool is PLN 50,000, including financial prizes, training courses, trips to space centers and participation in prestigious industry events. The best teams will receive support from Space 4 Talents and the opportunity to present at the SPACESHIELD Summit, as well as receive funding for project development. 

The SPACESHIELD Hackathon is organized as part of the EU project “Space 4 Talents”. The partners of the project include the city of Stalowa Wola, Stalowa Wola Regional Development Agency sp. z o.o. (StARR), Ignacy Łukasiewicz Rzeszów University of Technology, Innovative Poland Foundation, Rebels Valley, Leon Kozminski Academy and Innspace Association. 

The “SPACE 4 TALENTS” project is co-financed by the European Union, with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), under the European Urban Initiative (EUI). Its purpose is to create a model for attracting and retaining talent in Stalowa Wola through the development of the space sector.
