The sixth edition of the “Health of Poles” Congress was held on November 25-27, under the motto “Science for the health of society.” During the congress, Prof. Gertruda Uścińska took part in the debate “Science for the health of Poles”. The discussion with the participation of 25 university rectors was moderated by Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, Chairwoman of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Prof. Piotr Wachowiak, Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics, and Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, Director of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing. The special guest of the debate was the Minister of Science, Dariusz Wieczorek.
Invited to the discussion at the 6th “Health of Poles” Congress were prominent experts, leading decision-makers from the world of politics, as well as representatives of local governments, universities and colleges. Representatives of numerous scientific societies and research centers, NGOs and medical institutions also took part in the debate.
The congress showcased achievements, implementations and scientific programs that have a significant impact on healthy living, social well-being, the development of prevention and diagnostics, as well as social security and family life. This was a continuation of last year’s Congress theme related to the “One Health” slogan.
The “Health of Poles” Congress was organized in cooperation with the Main Council of Research Institutes (RGIB), the World Hearing Center, the Institute of Sensory Organs and the “Health First” foundation.
