Suicidology workshops at Poznań International Fair and Education Forum in Kraków

Two educational workshops aimed at teachers, students and representatives of educational institutions were held within the framework of the project “Suicidology – state of knowledge analysis and educational campaign”. The meetings took place during important educational events – the Education Fair at the Poznań International Fair and the Education Forum in Kraków.

Poznań International Fair – education in suicide prevention

During the Education Fair in Poznań, which was organized by the Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Region, the project team conducted suicidology workshops for teachers and students. The event provided an opportunity to discuss early recognition of suicide risk symptoms among young people and effective intervention strategies in educational institutions. Workshop participants had the opportunity to gain practical tools and knowledge that they can use in their daily educational work.

Educational Forum in Kraków – suicidology in the context of inclusive education

The second key event in which the project team participated was the Educational Forum in Kraków, organized by the Marshal’s Office of the Małopolska Region at the Małopolska Science Center Cogiteon. The Forum brought together more than 180 schools and local governments, focusing on the topic of inclusive education. As part of the event, we held workshops on suicidological issues, aimed at teachers, school principals and local government representatives. Discussions and practical exercises allowed participants to better understand how to effectively identify and support students in mental health crisis.

We would like to invite you to the next event, which will be held in Kraków on April 2-3.

“Suicidology” project – a multi-phase educational and research campaign

The project “Suicidology – state of knowledge analysis and educational campaign,” implemented by the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School in Warsaw, aims to raise awareness of the problem of suicide and prepare a wide-ranging educational campaign. The initiative involves research at various levels of society, including educational, professional and medical communities. The collected data will be used to create personalized prevention strategies aimed at supporting people in crisis, as well as preventing critical situations.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Science. You can follow the progress of the work on the project’s dedicated website: www.sgmk.edu.pl/suicidology, where we publish updates on a regular basis.
