One in five workers in Poland has an occupation highly exposed to AI, according to a study by the Polish Economic Institute (PIE).
PIE analyzed which professions are most exposed to artificial intelligence. These include, in particular, those jobs that require higher qualifications, such as financiers, lawyers and programmers. Overall, some 3.68 million people are currently employed in the 20 professions most exposed to artificial intelligence. In comparison, the number working in the 20 professions least exposed to AI is about 1.66 million, accounting for 10 percent of the workforce.
Women more exposed to AI’s impact on the labor market than men
Of the 121 occupation groups analyzed in Poland, women are more likely to be in those at risk of AI impact. As many as 28 percent of all women working in Poland and 17 percent of men work in the 20 occupational groups most vulnerable to changes associated with the introduction of AI.
AI’s greatest impact is on the financial and insurance sectors
The agriculture, forestry, hunting and fishing sectors have the lowest exposure to AI, suggesting that they are the least affected by the development of these technologies. Similarly low exposure can be seen in the hospitality industry and in construction. The financial and insurance sector, on the other hand, shows the highest exposure to AI, suggesting that these technologies could be heavily used in process automation, data analysis and information management.
