This year’s final of the “Young Inventor” competition, organized by Rzeczpospolita magazine in cooperation with the Polish Patent Office, showed that young Polish technological talents have great potential to make changes that can improve the quality of life and the development of various fields of science and the economy. The event aims to support students and young scientists in developing their innovative projects.
Main awards
The first prize in the IT Development category went to Cezary Skarzyński’s team for their project DIAGLY, an artificial intelligence assistant that supports medical diagnosis in primary care. The system analyzes data in real time and suggests possible diagnoses and recommendations for patients. This solution can significantly improve the daily work of doctors.
The second prize was awarded to Maciej Ślot for his innovative radiofrequency cardiac sensor. This device allows non-invasive measurement of fluid levels in the lungs, which can be crucial in the diagnosis of patients with heart disease, especially in regions with limited access to specialized care.
Honorable mentions
Kornelia Wieczorek received an honorable mention in the agrotech & food technology category for her RHIZOSPHERIC project, which proposes to replace artificial fertilizers with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, reducing the environmental impact of agriculture. Filip Budny was recognized in the green transformation category for his Watersense system that monitors the state of rivers and enables faster response to changes in their ecosystems.
